How Hearing Works in Splash Spring 2015
What are sounds? How do your ears detect them? How does your brain make sense out of words? What's up with music? This class will tackle all of these questions, and more! We'll look at the physical properties of sounds, the kinds of features that the brain latches onto, some cool auditory illusions, and more.

Seeing Things: Fooling the Eyes and Brain in Splash Spring 2014
Ever been fooled by an optical illusion, and wondered why your eyes and brain were so susceptible to it? Did you know that illusions exist for other senses, too? Do you want to learn more about how your brain works? This class will explore visual and auditory illusions, discuss how they work, and see why scientists get excited about illusions as a way to investigate the human brain.
